Potato skins are a great way of using every bit of the potato. If you were a restaurant owner, you would use the inside of the potato for making mashed potatoes and then save the skins to make potato skins. See, that’s called using your noggin.
I am sure there is a restaurant that you have in mind that serves potato skins and they are probably really tasty. Who wouldn’t like a crispy potato with cheese, bacon, and sour cream (or ranch dressing), to accompany a few chilled beers? I certainly love them and order them when I can.
Without a single doubt in my mind, though, you will never be able to eat potato skins ever again after you have tried eating shepherds pie potato skins. Shepherd’s pie potato skins are amazing because unlike potato skins these can be treated as a full meal. Potato skins are an appetizer at best.
