Bread pudding is one of those desserts where the name does not necessarily imply what you are getting. Puddings are usually made with milk or creams and resemble custards.
This dessert does have eggs and milk but the center should never be anywhere near the consistency of a pudding. Ideally, a really good bread pudding should have a toasted slightly crisp outside with a soft not mushy interior.
You can also add other ingredients to make this dessert your own version of an amazing bread pudding. The recipe is pretty standard and flexibly enough where you can add a few things like cinnamon, raisins, spiced rum, coconut rum, or orange zest.
