Black forest cake is one of my all-time favorite desserts and for good reason. You have chocolate, cherries, whip cream, and kirsch. The dessert is so good that it would probably consume the entire cake all to myself.
The original cake can’t be beaten, but being someone who is always looking for new and fun ways of “playing” with food it’s nice encountering recipes in which the original recipe is reconstructed.
Taking black forest cake and turning into a tart, is just the kind of recipe modification that gets the creative juices in my brain going. The recipe from Girl Vs Dough not only turns this iconic cake into a tart. She turns it, into a frozen dessert. The recipe is designed to be served during Valentines Day but there is no golden rule that requires you to do that.
