Reliving 1950’s Cooking With Slow Cooker Pot Roast

The 1950’s were not all peaches and cream culturally or socially in America but it was certainly a very interesting time for food. Microwaves were becoming more readily available which ultimately helped create the T.V dinner aka microwave food.

People were very busy back then too so the need to create simple meals the whole family could sit down to enjoy was almost a necessity. Meals like casseroles, meatloaf, and pot roast were simple to make and very satisfying. Don’t forget, people wanted to eat well but they wanted to do it with as little effort as possible much like today’s world.

I personally feel pot roast really shined during these occasions because it did not involve any fancy procedures or ingredients but it was so flavorful the leftovers could be enjoyed several days later without anyone griping

Life has no signs of slowing down and people are busier than ever which is why I highly recommend you check out the video recipe below from Food Wishes. In the video, you will learn the simple way of making pot roast and how to get the most flavor out of something so simple and iconic.
