No these little desserts are not named after the actress Whoopie Godlberg nor do they have any thing to do with her. They are however delicious and the best way to describe them is the following way.
If an Oreo cookie were French and incredibly wealthy it would not be made out of cookies. The Oreo would be made out of a soft sponge cake and rather than having a sugary pasty “cream filling” which resembles soft sugary cement, it has a soft cream filling. This dessert unlike it’s Oreo counter part would not be caught dead after your lame meal. It would however be rubbing elbows with other fancy pastries at the latest chic bar in town.
