Chocolate Custard Cake Is Your Salvation From Lava Cake

How crazy is that? People are so addicted to chocolate cake filled with chocolate sauce that this once delicacy is no longer just found in fine dining establishments. It is now commercialized and delivered to you with your pepperoni pizza.

So at what point do we find salvation from our salivation over chocolate lava cake? How do you break up with that lover who enters your life at random for a quick moment of passion only to leave you confused and feeling guilty for wanting more?

You find a dessert that is more stable. One that you can cut into and it won’t ooze out all over the place. Equally addictive, however, you don’t feel guilty after the fact and it’s more reliable because you can put the leftovers in the fridge. I was wondering if a glass 9×9 baking dish can be used? The temp is right for glass bakeware use, & I guess the question lies in whether or not greasing the glass bakeware will prevent it from sticking.
I’ve, obviously, all the ingredients, & am going to make this tonight for dessert.
So, I presume, we will find out.

Hi Cin,

That is a great question. Yes, you will want to grease your glass baking dish well because glass and ceramic baking dishes have a greater tendency for food to stick to them. Something else to keep in mind is glass takes a long time to heat but it retains the heat long after the bakeware has been removed from the oven. A good rule of thumb is to reduce the cooking temp by 20-25 degrees because the cooking will continue after the dessert is out of the oven. Be sure to let us know about your results.
