Slow Cooker Asian Sticky Ribs

When it comes to ribs, I am someone who will cook them one of two ways. In the oven or on the grill. There is something magical about slow roasting ribs in the oven or properly slow roasting them on a grill BBQ style? As Joey Tribbiani would say, “Fugged About It”. When ribs are cooked this way they are falling apart tender to where you can slide the bones right out.

That, by the way, is epic tenderness.

The trouble with preparing ribs in the oven or in a proper BBQ is that you have to watch them while they cook. You can’t just walk away completely. You have more flexibility cooking ribs in the oven but not many people are comfortable putting food in the oven and then walking out the door for hours.

That is why slow cookers were invented. A slow cooker lets you slow cook food at a lower temperature than an oven, stove, or BBQ. The lower temperature means the cooking can take place while you sleep, go shopping, or take the kids out for the day.

To spice things up a bit we found a recipe that is outside the norm when it comes to ribs. Rather than sticking to the traditional dry rub and BBQ sauce, we found a recipe with a little Asian infusion. The ribs are falling apart tender with just a hint of Asian flavors you will come to love.
