Making puff pastry seems like a really complicated process but it’s actually quite simple. It’s so easy in fact it’s a lot like making pie crust.

With only four ingredients (flour, butter, sugar, and salt) there is very little to screw up.

The most complicated part involving puff pastry is the folding of the butter into the flour. This is done by rolling out the dough several times and then folding the dough into itself much like folding a homemade envelope. After this is done, you can use the puff dough in whatever recipe you want.
