It’s Not A Mimosa It’s Watermelon Sangria

I would like to think most people have an open mind when it comes to drinks. There are still a lot of guys out there however that don’t want anything to do with fruit drinks and or pink drinks but the ladies love them.

Guys, it’s time to set your insecurities aside and begin learning to make drinks that appeal to women. Drinks, like this watermelon sangria.

For the women who read this, I know this recipe will take very little convincing because it’s made with champagne! No it’s not a mimosa it’s a watermelon sangria because it also uses wine.

For the guys reading this, host a party and invite a bunch of your female co-workers then wait a day or two before several of them beg you to host another party with those watermelon drinks you served. You bachelor days will soon be over.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Medium Seedless Watermelon, Washed

  • 6 bottles (750 Ml Bottles) Rose Wine, Chilled

  • 1 bottle (750 Ml Bottle) Champagne, Sparkling Wine, Or Moscato, Chilled (if you want it sweeter go with the moscato)

Instructions

Note: This make a large quantity and serves 18-24 people! It can easily be cut in half.

  1. Several hours before serving, slice 2-3 inch slabs of rind from around the outside of the watermelon, making sure there’s plenty of red fruit attached. Slice the rind into 2-inch strips, then cut the strips in the other direction to make large chunks. Add the chunks into a large vat and add the rose wine. Cover the vat and stick it in the fridge to let it chill for at least 6 hours—more if you can!

  2. Right before serving, stir in the chilled Champagne, sparkling wine, or moscato.

  3. Serve in wine glasses…and use tongs to remove individual pieces of fruit. Yum!
