They’re named OMG’s after that exact experience because it’s what happened when founders Chris Emery and his business partner Larry Finnson first gave samples to friends and family. “They would say OMG, THESE THINGS ARE AMAZING,” Emery joked. “We thought it would be a good name for the candy.”
The snacks were originally sold in Canada and thanks to Larry Finnson convincing his partner Chris Emery to go on reality tv show called the Dragon’s Den which is the Canadian equivalent to Shark Tank. The two were able to secure funding for their new snack. The company was originally founded in 2012 and four years later the snacks make their way to the US for the very first time.
The snacks rather than being your traditional cookies, or potato chips, are little clusters of things like graham crackers, almonds, and let’s not forget everyone’s favorite treat. Chocolate.
