Food is getting expensive in the states, which lead me to wonder what does a $5 food purchase around the world look like?
In Spain for example, you can purchase 2 bottles of wine at your local grocery store with only $5. I know, booze are not food but alcohol forms a major part of most households regardless of which national flag you represent.
According to a statistic from drug-rehabs.org, the average American, “may consume over 25 gallons of beer, 2 gallons of wine, and 1.5 gallons of distilled spirits each year”. Something tells me that falls outside of a $5 budget.
