A Deconstructed Strawberry Triffle

The art of deconstructing food is simply taking a dish apart and then recreating the dish in a different manner. This is where mason jars come into the mix. Mason jars as super popular right now. People are using mason jars as ways of storing their soups, salads, and now they are being used for dessert. This strawberry trifle is no exception and you can transport them anywhere you want because they travel well in jars.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3 c. chopped pound cake or angel food cake
  • 2 c. sliced or chopped strawberries

Directions 

  1. In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat cream with sugar until stiff peaks form, about 5 minutes. Stir in vanilla until combined. Transfer mixture to a piping bag.

  2. Among four glass jars, layer pound cake or angel food cake, whipped cream mixture, and strawberries.
